Short Take: Learn2.com lays off 47 to streamline business

Online distance-learning and -training company Learn2.com has laid off 47 workers--16 percent of its work force--in an effort to streamline its operations. Learn2.com merged with 7th Street.com and acquired ViaGrafix.com last year. A company representative said the layoffs were a part of an effort to reduce redundant positions after the mergers. Learn2 laid off workers from its offices in Sausalito, Calif., Pryor, Okla., and White Plains, N.Y.
